WHO IS MLPORA?
MLPORA (Muckleneuk Lukasrand Property Owners and Residents’ Association) is an active community association managed by twelve (12) volunteers serving as an Executive Committee. MLPORA is a body for the precinct and has a mandate to engage with City of Tshwane. All residents are required to register by completing a Resident Form. There is a yearly voluntary contribution as well as ad-hoc fund raising initiatives during the year.
HOW DOES MLPORA COMMUNICATE?
We belief strongly in effective communication about matters of the community and know who your neighbour is through our telegram groups, connect your neighbour street groups and email. To join these groups, you are required to complete the Resident Form whereafter you will be connected to the groups.
IMPORTANCE OF TOWN PLANNING
Our area is rich in heritage and to maintain this legacy, we mandated subcommittee of subject experts called the 'core group' to focus on the portfolio of town planning and illegal land use. These outstanding women and men offer their expertise free of charge to MLPORA in a continuous battle to raise objection when the residential nature of our community are unduly compromised and building by-laws are violated.
Between the Leaves
We have wonderful green spaces like Kruinpark a nature reserve, which has great walking trails! The beautiful picnic spot at The Commons on the side of the majestic Telkom Tower affords the greatest views from the hill. This vantage point made a fantastic venue for an initiative by a generous resident to treat MLPORIANS to stargaze the wonders of the moon and saturn in the clear September 2024 sky!
A variety of wildlife frequents the green spaces in our neighbourhood e.g. dassie, rich bird life, hedgehogs. We take our responsibility to look after these spaces, ensure that the wildlife is protected and the horticulture is looked after very seriously. A team of volunteers gather regularly to trim sidewalks, weed and maintenance our public spaces and perform other preventative care.

REFUSE COLLECTION & RECYCLING
Refuse collection is on Wednesdays. We have some recycling companies that we can suggest to do our part for the environment. We suggest that you mark your bin with our custom designed MLPORA bin stickers and drill holes in your bin for extra safety. Should your bin get stolen, you can get all the documents and process to get a new bin.
